Models of Disability

There are several different models for disability. 'The Medical' and 'The Social' models are the two most commonly used. The Disability Movement very much believe in the 'Social Model' which was devised by disabled people (UPIAS, 1976) and is now becoming more widely practiced within Local Authorities and Government.
